Dustmark Keep has shot past 30,000 pre-orders in Series 8 of the BrickLink Designer Program, and you’ve only got a few days left to secure your copy…
Crowdfunding for Series 8 of the BrickLink Designer Program wraps up on June 18 at 12pm PT / 8pm BST, or once all sets sell out. That’s looking unlikely at the moment, but you’ve still only got three days or so to pre-order your chosen sets from the range of fan-designed finalists in this round – which have collectively now sold 113,583 of their maximum 150,000 total copies.
Dustmark Keep is leading the pack with 31,762 sales, and has accordingly seen its maximum allocation increased to 35,000 copies. That number could still trend higher in the days to come, as BrickLink is able to transfer allocation between sets to allow those that are performing better to get into the hands of more people.
The following data comes directly from BrickLink’s source code, which reveals the total allocation for each set as well as the percentage sold, which we’ve converted into raw numbers. We’ve also calculated the approximate gross revenue for each model, from which the fan designers take a 5% share of net earnings (minus sales taxes and shipping charges).
| Series 8 set | Price | Maximum allocation | Number pre-ordered | Estimated value of pre-orders |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dustmark Keep | £319.99 / $349.99 / €349.99 | 35,000 | 31,762 | £10.2m / $11.1m / €11.1m |
| University of Science | £329.99 / $359.99 / €359.99 | 30,000 | 19,793 | £6.5m / $7.1m / €7.1m |
| Brick Railroad Locomotive | £109.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 | 30,000 | 21,634 | £2.4m / $2.6m / €2.6m |
| Coconut Cape | £189.99 / $209.99 / €209.99 | 30,000 | 22,144 | £4.2m / $4.7m / €4.7m |
| Hot Air Balloon | £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 | 30,000 | 18,250 | £1.3m / $1.5m / €1.5m |
The source code doesn’t reveal which sets have decreased their allocation in order to bump up that of Dustmark Keep, so the total figure here exceeds 150,000. But the final sales will never go past that number, so in the unlikely event every model creeps up to its current limit, at least one of these models will sell out before reaching 30,000 sales.
That doesn’t seem on the cards right now, but what is certain is that this is your best chance to secure any of these BrickLink Designer Program sets. The LEGO Group occasionally sells leftover copies directly through LEGO.com months down the line, but they’re very hard to come by with very few numbers available.
BrickLink will place a temporary hold on the required funds for any Designer Program sets at the time of pre-order, but you won’t be fully charged until they ship. That’s currently estimated to happen for Series 8 sets in November 2026.
